We Joined Some of the Top Pitmasters in the Country at Tropical Smokehouse

We've got something special to share with you this week! Instead of our usual recipe or "how-to" video, FOGO had the honor of participating in the Smoke and Sunshine event at Tropical Smokehouse in West Palm Beach, FL.

Hosted by BBQ guru Robert Jacob Lerma and Rick Mace of Tropical Smokehouse, this event brought together some of the country's top pitmasters to showcase their BBQ prowess and raise money for the National Alliance for Mental Illness. From fresh-caught Mahi-Mahi to braised oxtail, there was something to delight every palate.

Highlights included Rick and his team's impressive fire show featuring giant tomahawk steaks cooked to perfection on an XL Big Green Egg. Our very own Captain Ron savored every bite, including the flavorful achiote-rubbed Mahi-Mahi and the delectable open-fire pineapple dessert.

Apocalypse BBQ and Interstellar BBQ also wowed the crowd with their mouthwatering offerings, from award-winning ribs to fusion-inspired dishes. It was a day filled with incredible food, community spirit, and giving back.

At FOGO, we were proud to supply the charcoal for the event and even served up some freshly brewed coffee made from beans sourced from the coffee plantations that shade the beans used in our premium charcoal. The response was overwhelming, proving that great BBQ and camaraderie truly go hand in hand.
